Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) hosted a magnificent event in the International Expo Center Lahore from 27th July 2022 to 31st July 2022. The event was named as “Pakistan International Auto Show 2022”. PAAPAM also held a competition during this event named as “Engineering Innovation Award” in which students from 11 universities participated and 35 projects were nominated for exhibition and award.

Team Acoustics from SMME made it into the finals and it was the only team representing NUST. Owing to their innovative industrial project, they bagged the first position in this national Engineering Innovation Award and won a prize of PKR 100,000. The title of the project is: “Design and Fabrication of Test Rig for Acoustic Analysis of Crank Balancer”. These students worked under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Riaz Ahmed Mufti. The team members from SMME who made NUST proud in this event are, Abdul Ahad Khan, Asjad Ali, Hammad Saleem, Syed Muhammad Mehdi.
